ASSISTANT: PUMPING
Qualifying Criteria:
- Grade 10, 11, 12 or equivalent qualification
- Proficient in English and any other of the 11 official languages
- Applicant must possess good verbal communication skills
- Good knowledge of underground water pumps will be advantageous
- South African Citizenship
- Clear Criminal Record
Responsibilities:
- Provide efficient support within Engineering (Pumping) section
- Ensure all the pumps in area of responsibility are in good and operational order
- Report any pump failure(s) immediately to avoid flooding of working ends and travelling ways
- Assist in repairing and in extending of delivery pipes
- Ensure and maintain good housekeeping in and around the area of responsibility to maximise pump efficiency
- Assist in installation of pumps, maintenance and relocations
- Always take instructions from the supervisor(s) responsible for the shift
- Conduct all work according to required standards and specifications
- Adhere to MHSA standards & Gold1 Group’s safety motto: “Nothing is so important that it cannot be done safely”

Responsibilities :
- Provide efficient support within the Engineering Pump Fitting Section
- Work a cycle or rotation of shifts
- Assist Artisan(s) in carrying out their duties efficiently by providing support and carrying tool box, hand tools and other equipment
- Responsible for good housekeeping in and around the working place
- Ability to disassemble and re-assemble pumps and other associated equipment using hand tools
- Participate in all maintenance and breakdowns on both underground and surface pumps
- Manage and maintain in area of responsibility in accordance with mine standards, procedures and practices
- Grade10, 11, 12 or equivalent qualification
- Proficient in English and any other of the 11 official languages
- Knowledge in Boiler making will be advantageous
- 1-2 years’ experience in Boiler making in a mining or industrialized environment is essential and required
- Must be able to work at heights and confined spaces
- Applicant must possess good verbal communication skills.

- Maintain tools, equipment and safely keep hand tools
- Perform duties tasked to them and any other related duties within the Boilermaker Shop
- Responsible for good housekeeping in and around the working place
- Manage and maintain in area of responsibility in accordance with mine standards, procedures and practices
- Adhere to MHSA standards & Gold1’s safety motto : “Nothing is so important that it cannot be done safely”
Responsibilities:
- Work a cycle or rotation of shifts
- Assist Artisan(s) in carrying out their duties efficiently by providing support and carrying tool box, hand tools and other equipment
- Maintain tools, equipment and safely keep hand tools
- Able to disassemble and re-assemble electrical apparatus / components and equipment using hand tools
- Thread conduit ends, connect coupling and fabricate and secure conduit support brackets using hand tools
- Examine electrical units for loose connections, broken insulation and tighten connections using hand tools
- Manage and maintain in area of responsibility in accordance with mine standards, procedures and practices
